Resume Database for Sale

What the hell is this? Besides wrong, unethical and immoral - I don’t know.
Most know my position on resume databases and selling access to these databases (Recruiting Nevada will not compromise itself, or ever permit such search). It is just flat out wrong. Now there are enterprises attempting to just sell an entire resume database to the highest bidder….for cash only? Because their business model has changed?
My opinion is a job board should not have the right to a jobseekers’ private information to begin with. It is information that should simply be shared between a jobseeker and an employer. A resume is intended for the employers who had job postings the job seeker needed to apply to. The job board is simply the medium between the two.
Just as a newspaper, radio or TV ad introduces a jobseeker and employer via a fax number, email address or website address, a job board should be the introducing party - not an information broker. Yeah - on some job boards, in tiny print, there is a release that allows the job board to sell access to their paid advertisers who are assumed to be employers. But I strongly doubt a jobseeker would ever permit a job board the right to sell their information to any interested third-party that was willing to pay cash.
What ever happened to privacy?
