Off to Germany

Auf Wiedersehen!

I am off to Germany for a few weeks with my wife to meet and visit with in-laws.  I will return the first week of June.

I was planning on publishing a series of blog posts titled “Death of an Advertising Agency,” while I was gone.  In this series I talk about the rise and fall of the only locally owned and operated recruitment advertising agency.

As many of our readers may know, I was the owner of an advertising agency here in Las Vegas from 1996 to 2001.  In 1995 I was approached by Ted Stepien, founder of NAS Recruitment Solutions (formerly known as Nationwide Advertising).  Ted was president of NAS from 1947-1982 before he sold it to the Gund brothers.  Ted and I became partners of Classified USA of Nevada in 1996.  By 2001, we were the single largest advertiser in the classified section of the daily newspaper, representing only the who’s who of employers in Las Vegas.

It abruptly ended.

This series will talk about the rise and fall of the ad agency and what was learned from its’ successes and what was the cause of its’ death.

I felt it would be best to wait until I returned before this series was published.  It’s a good series.  I promise you that.

Cheers ~ I will have a few beers (or is that Biers) for everyone.
