United Through Diversity. This is the campaign that landed Terri Lanni, CEO of MGM-Mirage, the prestigious Trumpet Award for his work in the area of diversity. Mr. Lanni was recognized at Tuesday night’s Trumpet Awards at the Bellagio.
The Trumpet Awards highlight the accomplishments of individuals in the business, law, public service and entertainment fields who have made significant contributions to the fight for social justice and equality. Mr. Lanni is the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for his consistent support of minority achievement.

This is great news for Terri Lanni, MGM-Mirage (NYSE: MGM - News), Las Vegas and the State of Nevada. Nevada has been trying to lose the image of “Mississippi of the West” for many years. It is great efforts in the area of diversity that allow us to beyond that image.
Las Vegas is on the verge of becoming a minority-majority city. The “tipping point” right now is in the eighth grade of the Clark County School District. The class of 2012 will be the first minority-majority graduation class. Coincidentally, right around the same time MGM-Mirage will open its’ $8.0 billion City Center.
